Adversaria Adversaria (n.), a scholar’s notes kept beside the text.

Notes from working through questions in Scripture, one at a time. Each study gathers the relevant texts, reads them plainly, gives the strongest objections a fair hearing, and sets down where the text leads, so you can check every step for yourself.

I. The starting point
Where every study begins.

The Bible is God's infallible, self-authenticating Word. It does not contradict itself.

  1. 1A clear passage governs an unclear one, never the reverse.
  2. 2Scripture interprets Scripture. Each argument is built from Bible text alone.
  3. 3The King James Version throughout. No outside commentary, sermons, or personal opinion is brought in to settle a question.
II. The method
The same steps every time, so the work can be checked.

How each question is worked through

First
The controlling texts
The passages that speak most directly to the question are set out before anything else is said.
Then
The plain reading
The relevant passages are worked through in context, on their own terms.
Finally
The strongest objections
The best counterarguments are given a fair hearing and answered from the text.
The question asked of every objection
What would this interpretation actually require to be true?
The note made where a reading adds to the text
“The Bible never says this. The system requires it.”
Scripture text Objection or false interpretation Sound method
III. The studies
Each one stands on its own. Start wherever your question is.

The studies

Five studies so far, each a single page. More questions will be added as they are worked through. Rest on a study to see the verse it turns on.

Acts 17:11 — KJV
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
